Creative recruitment film for Yne

Yne’s success story: The recruitment film helped grow from 4 to 17 employees!

Mission statement

Yne came to us with an idea to create a “Ynefilm” to help them recruit more people to their team. Since there’s a big competition for developers, they had to think differently in order to target the right people (and guess what!). The video was designed to show that the workdays at Yne are informal, fun and have a young environment. They are a group of friends at work and they focus on socializing. The video needed to support this by being playful and creative, and quick in the editing style. We had to bring out the feeling of Yne, which didn’t necessarily have to be from everyday work life.

How to proceed

Yne had some thoughts about what activities they wanted to include in the movie. We ended up showing scenes from the office (including Mario Kart), Kok Sandvika (floating sauna) and billiards, shuffleboard and darts at Raadhuset bar. Between each scene, we wanted cool, seamless transitions to add extra spice to the movie. This was also a move to reach the younger target group. We felt that we were given a lot of freedom and trust in the planning of the film. The shoot took place over two days, and thanks to the careful planning, it went smoothly.

Strategy

The video had to be versatile. It was to be used on the website, in job postings and advertisements. To grab the attention of the viewers, the video starts with the text “for developers, by developers”, which hits the target group right away. Since the main focus was the atmosphere and friendship, smiles and laughter were consistent throughout the video. We chose a song that contributed to the mood, both text and melody. It brings out the spirit of adventure and fits well with what we see on the screen.

Results

Yne expressed great pleasure with the customer reference video and the recruitment film. They saw great benefit in using these in future operations, both in recruitment and sales. The videos contained talking points and were more down-to-earth and informative than the Yne film, which was a feel-good movie. The videos performed well as ads on LinkedIn and received a high engagement rate and CTR. In addition, the recruitment film was advertised on YouTube and had an average high viewing time. The Yne film was important to them, and after some back and forth with feedback and testing of different styles, we came up with a good result that Yne was happy with.
