Summery videos, each with a distinct target audience.

Mission statement

The bicycle girls wanted a summery video that exuded good vibes, summer and smiles. They had a reference video that they liked the mood of, but it was too American. In these videos, it was important to show that we were in Norway. When we met with them, we realized that there were four bikes they wanted to show. In the end, there were four sequences, each with its own bikes and target group. It was to be a long version of 60 seconds that could also be divided into four 15-second videos. Each part had a different target group: an adult group of friends, an elderly lady with a dog, a student and a family with children.

How to proceed

We wanted to make it clear that we were in Norway, so we suggested filming in well-known locations such as Frognerparken, Ekeberg, Grünerløkka and Nydalen. We also needed actors. Sykkelpikene found people for most of the films, we were responsible for finding families with children. We coordinated with the actors and calculated that we needed one and a half shooting days. Before the shooting days, we had planned the entire movie and every shot carefully.

Strategy

One measure we took was to have an activity in each video. The bikes and the activity should go hand in hand to create a good atmosphere. There was a summer picnic, cycling in the park, drinking coffee with the dog and cycling to kindergarten. All of this was included in the full-length version, but in order for Sykkelpikene to get the most out of the recording, we split it up. The video was initially 60 seconds long and consisted of four sequences that we could easily split into four 15-second videos. In this way, they got a lot of content that has a clear target group each. In addition, shorter videos often do better in marketing.

In this project, the collaboration went like clockwork. There was some coordination with the actors and bikes that had to meet up in different places, but that wasn’t a problem. It was fun to challenge ourselves with creative and cinematic solutions. In the end, this is a project I’m happy with and I’m always happy when I see these videos.

Results

The cycling girls ended up with five videos, four 15-second videos and one 60-second long version. Perfect to advertise for the summer season! We received great feedback from Sykkelpikene, we have no doubt that the videos spread good vibes among cycling enthusiasts.
