Cappelen Damm har fått ny rekrutteringsfilm

Cappelen Damm wanted to show that they are a forward-thinking company when it comes to development (and not get stuck in an «old book publisher» reputation). With the video, they wanted the world to realize that what they do is exciting, important and has many users. Cappelen Damm wanted to reach the right people by showing the innovative and technological focus they have, and the good values they prioritize, such as motivation, freedom and the great power of influence each employee has. It was important that this was expressed by the employees in their own words, and that the cinematic effects matched the content.

Fremgangsmåte

At Roza, we had good contact with Cappelen Damm to find out what was important to them. After a couple of meetings, we planned how we would solve it cinematically. We visited their premises and selected the shooting locations in advance, thinking about noise, look and depth against the background, among other things. Our contact at Cappelen Damm selected the people who would be in front of the camera and made sure they were available for filming according to our plan. The shoot went very well, everyone got to say what they wanted to, and we felt we got the look we, and Cappelen Damm, wanted.

Strategi

To capture the viewer’s interest, we wanted to start the video with something creative, we chose to start with the sentence «this is where I work» and show a bit of the workplace in Cappelen Damm, in quick clips. For variety during the interviews, we picked three different locations for six people, simple moves like this increase the production value and keep the viewer’s attention. We wanted the clip images above the interviews to be stable and in slow motion to keep the professional and clean style.

«Working with Cappelen Damm and helping them with recruitment was very rewarding. The collaboration was good, and we had good communication from start to finish. We focused on varied cuts and stable and smooth shots, which made the video aesthetically pleasing with a professional style.

Resultat

Cappelen Damm received a main film of 90 seconds and a short version of 30 seconds. In addition, we extracted more content, such as images and several small snippets of a maximum of 10 seconds from the video – this was perfect for short ads in SoMe. The feedback from Cappelen Damm was that the film turned out beautifully, and the video complimented the job advertisement well. Cappelen Damm achieved its main goal – hiring new, competent people!
